“The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”

Music & Lyrics by William Finn, Book by Rachel Sheinkin, Conceived by Rebecca Feldman

presented by UA’s Repertory Theatre and directed by Samantha Wyer

This Tony Award-winning musical comedy, featuring songs like “My Friend, the Dictionary,” “I’m Not That Smart” and “Prayer of the Comfort Counselor,” introduces us to six awkward, quirky and thoroughly endearing students on the quest of a lifetime – becoming champion of the annual spelling bee. Not to be outdone in eccentricity, the judges are little more than adolescents themselves. This group of overachieving misfits finds the one place where they can shine, and learns along the way that there is more to life than winning.
