Are you a fan of musical theater? Have ever imagined writing one yourself?
This Saturday is your chance to learn from nationally award-winning bookwriter/lyricist Nathan Christensen. Nathan has worked with a wide variety of Broadway writers and performers, and is sharing his expertise with aspiring writers here in Tucson.
The “Intro to Writing a Musical” mini-workshop is being held Saturday, October 9, from 9am to 12 pm. Tuition is only $40, payable at the door.
Students will have the opportunity to:
- explore ten different forms of musicals
- analyze favorite showtunes for craft and context
- practice writing character-based lyrics
- experiment with the dramatic uses of music
- create compelling song moments within a scene
