I produce a satirical 1/2-hour "talk" show in which I interview famous characters in the history of Western Civilization. To date, shows have been produced, and have aired, featuring Adam (from the Garden), Noah (with the Ark) Moses, Columbus, George Washington, Eve and Alexander Graham Bell. These shows were produced at a community access media center back East and I'm now working through Access Tucson, where the on-camera rehearsal and shooting will take place. This show, featuring Jesus, is, IMO, my best to date. It's scripted though the talent doesn't have to be totally "off-book" as there's a teleprompter. Nor does the talent need to be similar in appearance to Jesus, though it would be nice. After all, this is satire and the concept of me chatting with Jesus is...well... Anyhow, looking for someone willing to take the risk and play this character. Again, it's satire and there are comical aspects to what Jesus says and how he is portrayed. I like to think of it as irreverently respectful. Plus, importantly, there are a number of wonderful messages about love and equality and peace that are conveyed and which do not get lost in the interview. It's important that the talent feel comfortable with the script and the role. Those with strong religious convictions should not apply. SAG actors can as I have secured waivers in the past. This is non-pay. You will be credited in the video which will air on a number of community access stations across the country as well as be posted to youtube and perhaps other video-viewing sites. Plus, a DVD of the show will be provided. And...I'll feed you! Would love to shoot this by end of March!
