Subject: [IFASA] Guest Speaker Announced!! March Meeting
Frances Causey to be our Guest Speaker for the March 20th IFASA Meeting!
Frances Causey, Director/Producer, is a seasoned investigative journalist fusing her media skills with a commitment to contribute to the restoration of people-based democracy in the United States. During her 14-year career with CNN, Frances moved up the ranks to become producer, and was a senior member of a team honored with News and Documentary Emmys for team coverage of both the Olympic Park and Oklahoma City bombings in 1995 and 1996. She directed "The Wendell Scott Story," which appeared on The History Channel and the Turner Networks. Frances was recently honored with the Women's International Film and Television Jury Award for her work on Heist.
She will be speaking about how to create, shoot and market Documentaries--which is a storytelling method with rules all their own.
Frances is currently touring the United States to promote her documentary "Heist: Who Stole the American Dream", which has just premiered last week in New York. Here's the review review of the film in the NYTIMES.
This meeting should be of interest to anyone interested in film because we all have a story to tell: Let's hear how to get it done, and done well!
Tuesday, March 20th, 2012 - 6:30pm at the Ward 6 Offices: 3202 E. 1st St. - Tucson, AZ
