IFA August Call Sheet - August 5 Meeting will focus on marketing your film

1.  Groundwork Promotions. The Independent Film Arizona Tuesday August 5 Meeting will focus on marketing your film and building your online presence as a filmmaker, actor, or professional in the industry. Groundwork Promotions will speak on the strategies and execution to making yourself marketable, building an audience, and engaging viewers. Whether you have a current project or not, the talk will speak to planning ahead and building a foundation that lays the ground for your online outreach. 

 

The IFA August Meeting will be held at the AULD DUBLINER (800 East University in Tucson) at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 5.  The meeting is free and open to all.

 

2.  David Wing Awarded IFA Instructor of the Year.  Independent Film Arizona has given  its 2014 Best Film Instructor Award to Professor David Wing who has taught film and digital arts at Pima Community College for over 30 years.  The award will be presented at IFA's Tuesday, August 5 Meeting at the Auld Dubliner, 800 E. University Drive, Tucson.

 

3.  Tucson Film and Music Festival. The Tucson Film and Music Festival is now accepting submissions for its 2014 Festival.  This festival is particularly interested in music related films, documentaries, and films made in or relating to Arizona.  For more information, go to tucsonfilmandmusicfestival.com.

 

4.  Accepting Nominations for IFA's  Best Actor and Best Actress Awards. Independent Film Arizona is now accepting nominations for its 2014 Best Actor and 2014 Best Actress Award.  Any film or theater actor or actress who lives in or has worked in Arizona is eligible.  To nominate an actor or actress, send their name and e-mail address to Antonella atindependentfilmarizona@gmail.com

 

5.  Education Documentary.  Syndicated Evangelist is in preproduction for a documentary entitled the New Public Education.  Anyone interested in being part of the production team should contact Ya Ya Perez atSyndicatedEvangelist@gmail.com

 

6.  The Loft Film Festival.  The Loft Film Festival (October 16-19) is now accepting submissions.  The Loft Film Festival focuses on the best of independent, international, and classic filmmaking.  For more information go to loftcinema.com 

 

7.  Santa Cruz County Film Festival.    The Santa Cruz County Film Festival is seeking submissions of independent films made in Arizona.  Contact  Linda Rushton at touraz4fun@msn.com for details.

 

8.  Rethink That PSAs.  Independent Film Arizona has shot several Public Service Announcements promoting shooting films in Arizona, but has additional shoots scheduled for August and September.  If you are interested in acting in or being part of an upcoming production, send an e-mail to Antonella at independentfilmarizona@gmail.com

 

9.  IFA Board.  Independent Film Arizona will hold elections for its Officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer) and for its Board at its Tuesday, December 2, 2014 Meeting.  If you are interested in running for the Board (or if you are interested in becoming more involved with Independent Film Arizona) send an e-mail to Antonella atindependentfilmarizona@gmail.com 

 

10.  Join Independent Film Arizona.  Independent Film Arizona is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to promoting and supporting actors and independent filmmakers in Southern Arizona.  You can become a member of Independent Film Arizona for only $25 a year by going to independentfilmarizona.com  The donation is tax deductible and supports independent filmmaking in Southern Arizona.
