CYT Tucson presents
“Bye Bye Birdie”
October 28 - 30
At Pima Community College Center for the Arts Proscenium Theatre
(Tucson) Christian Youth Theater returns to the stage with the hit musical comedy “Bye Bye Birdie” October 28th – 30th at the Pima Community College Center for the Arts Proscenium Theatre.
“Bye Bye Birdie” is one of the most captivating musicals of our time. It is a satire crafted with the fondest affection telling the story of a rock and roll singer who is about to be inducted into the Army.
“Bye Bye Birdie” is full of memorable hit songs by Charles Strouse and Lee Adams including “Put On A Happy Face” and “A Lot of Livin’ to Do.”
"CYT is thrilled to bring the energetic musical theater classic “Bye Bye Birdie” to Tucson. This is the first time CYT Tucson has performed this production, and we are sure it will be a hit for all ages. It is our hope that theater goers will enjoy traveling back to the upbeat era of the 60's," says CYT artistic director Heather Kerr.
“It's a timeless story, and one that will be repeated as we hand down our hopes and ideals to young people, and observe how those are interpreted and re-interpreted throughout time. But most of all...it's just a big, flashy, fun, exciting evening of theater...not far from what it feels like to be young again,” says “Bye Bye Birdie” director Luke Young.
CYT’s “Bye Bye Birdie” will have four public performances October 28th – 30th at Pima Community College Center for the Arts Proscenium Theatre.
Tickets are just $15 and are available at www.cyttucson.org.
Showtimes are the following:
Friday October 28th – 7:00pm
Saturday, October 29th – 2:00pm
Saturday, October 29th – 7:00pm
Sunday, October 30th – 2pm
CYT Tucson is a local non-profit theater arts organization providing instructional classes and live musical performance opportunities for Tucson youth ages 5 - 21.
