Subject: Ballet Tucson Fall Concert 2016 – Two World Premieres
Ballet Tucson opens its 2016-2017 season with an exciting triple bill program that includes two world premieres!
Ballet Tucson's 2016/17 Gala on Friday, November 18, begins with a wine and buffet reception at 6:30 pm, with live musical entertainment by Mariachi Valenzuela. There is a silent auction to benefit Ballet Tucson. Following a performance of the Fall Concert program, there is a post-performance champagne and dessert reception with company artists.
The program highlights three acts with two world premieres:
Spirit Garden (world premiere)
Choreography: Chieko Imada and Mary Beth Cabana
Renowned artist Lawrence W. Lee, the music of Tucson's own internationally celebrated troubadours Calexico, and Ballet Tucson collaborate on the unique celebration of "Dia de Los Muertos" (Day of the Dead).
Perseus and Andromeda (world premiere)
Choreography: Daniel Precup
Following the success of Gemini, this is the second installment of Precup's "Greek Heroes" series. Visually rich with the gods, monsters, and mythology.
Also highlighted in the program is:
Red, White & Blue!
Choreography: Chieko Imada and Mary Beth Cabana
The company's light-hearted salute to patriotism rounds out the program.

Performance – 8:00 pm
The Opening Night Gala includes a buffet reception, live musical entertainment by Mariachi Valenzuela, silent auction, and a post-performance champagne and dessert reception with company artists.
