OLD PUEBLO PLAYWRIGHTS

26TH ANNUAL NEW PLAY FESTIVAL

Original roles in new plays

written by local Tucson playwrights

Monday, December 5th, 7:00 P.M.

in the Rehearsal Hall,

(upstairs, behind the Cabaret Theater)

at the Temple of Music and Art, 330 S. Scott, Downtown Tucson

No appointment necessary.  Actors are asked to perform a one-minute monologue during auditions, memorized or script in-hand.  Resume and photo are preferred but not required.

GREAT ROLES AVAILABLE for men and women projecting 18 to 80 years of age; African-American actors (a college-aged man, and women 40 to 80) are especially invited to audition.

Up to 9 scriptsranging from 15 minute one-acts to full-length plays—will be performed at this year's festival, which will run Thursday-Sunday, January 19 – 22, 2017.  Each play will be performed once—as a staged-reading, providing the actor with the opportunity to develop a character that has never been seen on stage before. Because the works are considered “under Construction," blocking, costumes, and settings will be kept to a minimum. Memorization is not required, although there will be from 3 to 6 rehearsals.
