Subject: THE WHITE SNAKE opens THIS THURSDAY!
The Rogue Theatre
300 East University Boulevard, Tucson, AZ - 520-551-2053 - www.TheRogueTheatre.org
Four years ago, I sat in a theater at Oregon Shakespeare Festival and wept. All around me, people were standing and applauding the performance and I was a puddle of tears.
The play wasn't especially sad, but I was weeping because it was so beautiful. That play was Mary Zimmerman's The White Snake--a gentle retelling of the ancient Chinese tale of a snake who comes down the mountain to discover what it is to be human.
When we finally left our seats, I turned to Joe McGrath and said, "We have to bring this play to our audience in Tucson!"
That was four years ago. In just a few days, The White Snake opens at The Rogue.
I can't wait to share it with you.
With joy,
Cynthia Meier
Co-Founder of The Rogue Theatre
