Tucson, Arizona--Pima Community College digital and film arts department is excited to present the Digital Video and Film Arts Screening on May 18-19 at 7 p.m. in the Center for the Arts Proscenium Theatre. The screening will include film and video work from students in the beginning and advanced classes and the premiere screening of  “The Adventures of Ace Proton,” produced by the advanced cinematography classes this year.

According to student screenwriter Michael Doroudian, “Ace Proton is a fun little story with just enough humor to make you giggle, but not so much that it steals from the storyline by making it ridiculous. What we've captured is glimpse back through time to a point where you didn't need super special effects to believe in the universe on the screen. It was all about the writing, the acting, and the childhood imagination that everyone still has inside of them. I rediscovered my boyhood dreams in making this film, and I hope that at least some of the audience, if for only twenty minutes, will want to tie towels around there necks and teeter on the arm of the couch while flying through the galaxy on magical strings.” The film is shot in black and white and is reminiscence of the 1930s-style sci-fi serial “Flash Gordon.”

The Digital Video and Film Arts Screening is free and open to the public. The PCC Center for the Arts is located on West Campus at 2202 West Anklam Road, Tucson, (just west of downtown on St. Mary’s Road).  For information call 520-206-6986 or e-mail centerforthearts@pima.edu
