Are you curious about making the move to LA, NYC or the UK to pursue an acting career? Do you need to be SAG, AFTRA or Equity before moving? What resources are accessible to learn these things?
Get a head start and have all these questions and more answered by three actors working in LA, NYC and the UK.
SPEAKERS
Peter Arnold - originally from South Wales Peter working in the off Shore oil business, after eleven years he decided to give it and fulfil his life long dream to become an actor. He attended Mountview Academy of Theatre Studies in London, where he successfully completed one year postgraduate course in Actor training. Since graduating Peter has performed in various Theatre roles including: Peter in Dennis Potter's "Blue Remembered Hills", Dean Keaton in a UK tour of "Usual Suspects", Father Jack in Brian Friel's "Dancing at Lughnasa", The Prince in "Romeo & Juliet", Duncan/Doctor in "Macbeth", The King of France in "All's Well That End's Well". Peter has also been seen in various Television and Film roles including: TV commercial for stage version of "Grease", Frank in "Do Not Erase", which won a BAFTA for best short film at this years ceremony, Reverent Llewellyn in "Nice Day for a Welsh Wedding" which was filming in his home town of Swansea. Angry motorist for channel 4's "Trevor's world of Sport". Peter is delighted to be working in the business and is looking forward to a successful future career.
Reena Dutt - was raised in North Carolina and Arizona. She is currently an actress of Film, Theatre and Television. LA Theatre: Mark Taper New Works Festival, The Matrix Theatre (dir. Bill Rauch), East West Players, Pasadena Playhouse-Furious Theatre Co.(dir. Domaso Rodriguez), Will and Company. NYC Theatre: 13th St. Theatre/Slamdance, NY Intl. Fringe Festival, National Asian American Theatre Co., The Lark Theatre. Film: Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World, Ways of the Flesh (TBR), Unfinished (dir. Arun Vir.). Jeannette Rourke - A versatile and extraordinary performer, from tragedy to stand-up comedy. Jeanette has toured extensively throughout the UK. Recent work includes the lead role of Annie in the BAFTA winning film Do Not Erase as well as feature film, short film and theatre credits. Jeanette's next project, after her strip to the U.S.A! will be the in the role of Lady Barnwall in the feature film Cover to Cover, due to start shooting in South Africa August 2007.
