CYT Tucson's Theater Day Camp program will offer students a hands-on, multi-faceted theater experience. Campers will enjoy making new friends as they build performance skills, and learn self-confidence, teamwork and theater abilities. Campers will be exposed to many different aspects of theater: drama, voice, dance, set-building, costume making and more. Plus there will be plenty of time for special fun activities and theater games.
All staff have been interviewed and carefully selected for their backgrounds, education and experience working with children. To maximize the learning experience, and to maintain a fun and safe environment, we maintain a ratio of 10 campers to 1 camp counselor.
We are offering two week long day camp experiences:
Week One: June 11-15 for students age 5-grade 5
Week Two: June 18-22 for students grade 6-age 18
On Friday night of each week campers will perform for family and friends. Week One students will prepare a showcase performance of You're A Good Man Charlie Brown. Over the course of Week Two, students will prepare a performance of Grease...You're the One That I Want. This is the 1950's rock 'n' roll musical adaptation for young performers that will feature the songs and wiggles that made the music of the 50s such a gas.
The cost for Week One: $100 for students age 5-7
$150 for students age 8-grade 5
The cost for Week Two: $150
Camp Schedule for Week One: Students age 5-7 attend from 9am-noon
Students age 8-grade 5 attend from 9-3:00 pm
Camp Schedule for Week Two: 9-3:00pm
Camp location for both weeks: First United Methodist Church
915 E. 4th Street
