Studio Connections offers Fall Theatre Classes

  

da Vinci Kids (ages 8-12)

August 25 - November 4, 2012

Saturdays, 9:15-10:45 am

on the grounds of St. Francis in the Foothills, 4625 E. River Rd. (at Swan)

 

Drama class for the child actor, emphasizing stage movement, vocal technique and creative games to develop a collaborative project. Students will perform in a show, Charlotte’s Web on Nov. 3 and 4.

 

Tuition: $240

 

da Vinci Prep (ages 13-19)

August 25 - November 7, 2012

Wednesdays: 4-5:30 pm and Saturdays: 11 am-12:30 pm

on the grounds of St. Francis in the Foothills, 4625 E. River Rd. (at Swan)

 

da Vinci Prep is a middle to high school level class, emphasizing the vocal, physical, improvisation and performance skills required for traditional spoken drama or musical theatre production. This class expands on the skills learned in da Vinci Kids, focusing on audition and rehearsal skills, and culminating in a production of the musical INTO THE WOODS, Jr., November 9-11, 2012.

Tuition: $495.

A $50 non-refundable deposit will reserve a space and be applied to tuition once registered.

Our Instructors:

Robert Encila is a professional actor, singer, and director of over eighty productions. He is also a certified master teacher who has worked for twenty-two years in both public and private schools, and has trained students from the early grades through college and beyond. He has appeared locally with Borderlands Theater and Arizona Theatre Company and is a frequent performer at BB King’s and Birdland in New York City. He is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association.

Samantha Cormier earned her BFA in Theatre from the University of Arizona. She has performed in, choreographed, designed and directed over 40 productions. She is an instructor for Youth Theatre at Studio Connections and Live Theatre Workshop. She was the resident choreographer for Redondo Music Theatre. Favorite shows directed include You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, Once On This Island, A Year With Frog and Toad, Godspell, Jr., and Wizard of Oz. 

Studio Connections is a 501 (c)(3), not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing excellence in visual and performing arts education fostering leadership, artistic voice, and peaceful community building. We serve the needs of children, youth, and adults in a safe, nurturing, and collaborative environment.
