6:30PM at Rhythm Industry Performance Factory, 1013 S.Tyndall Ave
Cost for workshop (all 3 rehearsals): $40/$32 students
Come and be part of Tucson's amazing All Soul's Procession with Batucaxe! You may choose to either play an instrument or dance; no experience needed, everyone welcome! You must attend all three workshops in order to be part of the Procession. Cost of the workshops will include instruction, use of instrument, and t-shirt and the proceeds will benefit our programs as well as the All Souls Procession. In cooperation with U of A World Music Gang, Tucson High, and Batucaxe, and with support from LP (Latin Percussion)
If you are a lover of traditional Brazilian and Cuban music and song, then these workshops are for you. The community will have the opportunity to experience what Batucaxe gets to experience when they attend California Brazil Camp. If you have wondered about the level of mastery that we get to experience at camp, you will NOT want to miss Mark Lamson in action; he is brilliant at orchestrating the group into a groove that you will not forget. Please stay tuned for the SPECIFIC DATES and TIMES, and locations. Private and semi-private lessons with Mark will be available as well.
Batá Kêtu
Bata Ketu is a class that demonstrates and explores the relationship between Afro-Brazilian and Afro-Cuban music. It focuses primarily on the music (both song and percussion) of the Orixas/Orishas, but also includes secular music as well, including samba, pagode, rumba, songo, and so forth. marklamson.com,solemarevents.com

Gilberto Gil is one of the most well known musicians in Brazil and around the world. His music spans 50 albums and decades; he is an amazing musician and humanitarian. Brazilian artists of his caliber do not come to Tucson very often, you will not want to miss this show!
Batucaxe has a VERY limited number of EXCELLENT seats in the front stage left and right rows for only $35 (over 20% savings). To obtain these tickets, you must stop by Rhythm Industry Performance Factory (1013 S. Tyndall Ave) on Tuesdays (Batucaxe rehearsal night) 5:30-9:00pm OR Sundays (Batucaxe dance class night) 4:30-7:30pm. PLEASE be prepared to pay CASH ($35).
