IFASA MEETING TONIGHT!!!  :)

WHEN: TONIGHT!!  :)  Meeting starts promptly at 7:00PM.  (Arrive at 6:30PM to network!)  Meeting typically ends around 9:00, with the networking ending around 9:30PM.

WHERE:  5120 S. Julian Dr.  Tucson, AZ  85706.  They are located inside the Bookmans Event Center building. Palo-Verde/Irvington (near I-10). Go East on Irvington Rd.  Make your first Left onto S. Outlet Center Dr.  The road turns, just keep with it.  Turn Right onto S. Julian Dr.  The Bookmans Event Center Building will be on your right.  Drive around to the BACK of the building (the South side), then look for the Pirate flags (or an IFASA Sign).

This months meeting is to introduce the film  community to the resources at GANGPLANK.  Gangplank-Tucson seeks to unite the creative class by providing space and resources for innovative ideas to flourish. They are a collaborative workspace, without physical or financial barriers preventing participation. Their expectations are simple – share your ideas and knowledge with others.  (Translation:  They share creative space at no cost to you--they only ask that you give back some of your knowledge.  Yes--that's right--NO COST!)

Gangplank is also working to potentially turn their huge warehouse into a Sound Stage!  As we all know, by drawing more productions companies to Tucson, jobs will be created and sustained both in the media industry as well as the hospitality and other businesses that provide products and services for movie productions. Remember the Old Tucson Sound Stage was built for the production of one movie, "Arizona"...Perhaps Tucson's next next production will create a sound state at Gangplank Tucson?!
We also have some really great GEMS to show as well!  Evan Grae Davis is a Tucson-based documentary filmmaker who is now touring Europe, promoting his documentary "It's a Girl:  The Three Deadliest Words in the World". His trailer will be featured at the October 16th meeting, and he will speak at the November 20th meeting.

Each meeting is a networking opportunity for members and guests to make connections for additional work.
