'The Bickersons: 'The Tax Refund'

The Bickersons was a radio comedy sketch series that began in 1946 on NBC, moving the following year to CBS where it continued until 1951. The show's married protagonists, portrayed by Don Ameche and Frances Langford, spent nearly all their time together in relentless verbal war usually in the wee hours.

Sherlock Holmes: 'The Case of the Dead Adventuress'

This originally aired February 5, 1945.  This Sherlock Holmes mystery is within the spectrum of tense but almost comical in its bluntness.  Sherlock never disappoints.

Fibber McGee and Molly: 'The Census Enumerator'

This episode originally aired April 4, 1950 and is the story of Fibber McGee acting as a government agent and proving that he is the smartest man in the work until he opens his mouth.  His wife Molly does her best to keep him on the straight and narrow.
