Ray Braqdbury's Fahrenheit 451 is a dystopian, (opposite of utopian) play presenting a future American society locked in a senseless war where books are outlawed and "firemen" burn any that are found. The play will be directed by Mike Wilkinson and will be performed in a Dynamic Reader's Theatre format with no required memorization and limited rehearsal schedule.
Come prepared to read excerpts from the script that will be provided. Bring a bio and headshot, if available. Plan to stay for as long as the Director requests. If selected for a role or roles, the rehearsal schedule will begin on Tuesday, September 22nd and be held on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday until the week of the play opening with a Preview performance on Thursday, October 15th. The play will be presented over two weekends from October16-18 through October 23-25th with final weekend performances being held on Sundays as a 3:00 PM Matinee. Even though the rehearsal schedule is abbreviated, you will not be required to attend every rehearsal and will only be scheduled to rehearse when your particular unit is meeting.
