Releases AZ Creative Voices!

AZ Creative Voices is a ten episode podcast series that chronicles the Arizona Creative Communities experience. Producer Regina Revazova takes listeners on a tour of participating communities,from the borderlands of Douglas and Yuma to historic neighborhoods in Tucson and Phoenix, from Globe to Casa Grande and Flagstaff to Tempe where AZ communities are leveraging creative assets. Barrio Stories in Barrio Anita is the focus of the first episode. Listen to the full episode HERE! 

 

Barrio Stories in Barrio Anita and it's continued programming as well as this podcast has been supported in part by the AZ Creative Communities Institute (AZ CCI). The AZ CCI is an initiative of the Arizona Commission on the Arts and Arizona State University's Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts, with guidance from Southwest Folklife Alliance, an affiliate nonprofit of the University of Arizona. Barrio Stories Nogales Coming Soon!

After months of research and collecting twenty oral histories, Barrio Stories lead artists are working with Nogales residents young and old, writing scripts, holding advisory council meetings, meeting with city officials, business owners and getting ready to put on the biggest party to celebrate the heritage and history of Arizona's busiest Border Point of Entry, a mountain pass where international trade has occurred for since pre-Columbian times.
