George and Martha cordially invite you to join them in their "New Carthage" home for a wickedly wild evening of marital warfare. It's mostly fun and games, 'til the games aren't fun. You may find you are far too involved, sitting in their living room, perhaps even drunk or emotionally bruised. You will not be alone in this. Martha, much to George's chagrin has also invited Nick and Honey, a new professor and his wife. You will meet them as they arrive not-so-fresh, post-faculty party. What happens next is not for the weak of heart. It is the wee hours of the morn, and the games have just begun. Alcohol flows. Words fly. Civility unravels. With the promise of "Illyria" dangling before them, the young couple are unwittingly engulfed in a turbulent dance of dysfunction and despair. Rising, falling, flailing, gasping for air, they—George, Martha, Nick, Honey --are hurtled through space and time to an end that leaves them teetering at the intersection of truth and illusion. What then?

Come find out. Drinks are on George and Martha.

Currently in its inaugural season, Things Theatrical produces substantial theatre for intimate spaces with plans to produce theatrical events in a variety of venues deemed suitable for our productions. Directed by Maria Caprile, the Virginia Woolf cast includes Susan Arnold (Martha), Clark Andreas Ray (George), Robert Anthony Peters (Nick), and Emily Fuchs (Honey).

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? premiered on Broadway in late 1962 and went on to win both the Tony Award and the New York Drama Critics' Circle award for Best Play. With numerous award-winning revivals over the past half century, Virginia Woolf maintains relevancy and continues to pack a punch.

"With America currently engaged in its own form of post-truth politics, now seems the perfect time to revive Albee's enduring masterpiece about the danger of living in a world of illusions."

Billington, Michael. "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Is a Misunderstood Masterpiece." The Guardian, Guardian News and Media, (18 Sept. 2016)
