Subject: Auditions for AMERICA HURRAH

STUDIO CONNECTIONS is holding auditions for the DA VINCI PLAYERS' production of AMERICA HURRAH, by Jean-Claude van Itallie, on November 15 and 16 at 6:30 PM at St. Francis in the Foothills, NW corner of River and Swan. Callbacks are on Thursday, November 18. Performances are January 20- February 6, 2011, directed by Robert Encila.

AMERICA HURRAH is a trilogy of short plays. It was “widely hailed as the watershed play of the sixties” and “… the first major dramatic expression of the anti-Vietnam war movement.” A poignant deconstruction of popular culture, AMERICA HURRAH re-examines our dreams and confronts our values in the face of our chronic tendency for self-absorption and divisiveness.

“It is, all in all, an evening of theatre that challenges and stimulates.” nytheatre.com

To audition, prepare for a cold reading and movement directions. We are looking for a diverse group of eight actors, ranging in age, color, and type.
