What Is Santa's Workshop?
Santa's Workshop was created 24 years ago by Tucson's own, Arizona Rose Theater Co. Santa's Workshop accepts new or used ("pre-loved") toys and clothing to distribute to families and individuals during the holiday season. Food items, hygiene items, diapers, and household items, etc. are also accepted. The used toys are cleaned & repaired and the clothes are cleaned, pressed, & folded to give them a fresh look. All of this labor is accomplished with a dedicated group of volunteers.
This year, Santa's Workshop has found a home in the Foothills Mall, where donations will be accepted during mall business hours starting Thanksgiving weekend (November 26th) through the Monday before Christmas (December 20th.)
Santa's Workshop will be holding daily activities at this location during the week. There will also be performances by various local artists and performing groups Wednesday through Sunday for a minimal ticket price. All proceeds will be donated to Casa Maria Soup Kitchen and The Marana Food Bank. Enjoy storytime, magic performances, a theatrical presentation of " 'Twas the Night Before Christmas" by The Arizona Rose Theatre Company, musical sing-a-longs, an Elvis Christmas, holiday film shorts by local filmmakers, and much more. We are currently finalizing the event calendar so please keep in touch with our website, www.santasworkshopsite.com for specific performances and times. Additional donation drop-off boxes will be located at all Tucson Pizza Hut locations, beginning November 25th.
