A Christmas Carol set to Open December 1

Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol is set to open Wednesday December 1st

Five years ago, James Gooden adapted A Christmas Carol as a staged reading to be performed for three weeks at his TopHat Comedy Club.  The show was received so warmly, that James revised it, added music and dancing and presented it again the next year as a full production.  Again, A Christmas Carol was a hit with the TopHat audience.  James continued to revise the piece during the next three years, and the current edition of A Christmas Carol will open at The Comedy Playhouse on December 1.

Many families have chosen to make attending A Christmas Carol a part of their holiday tradition.  In response, The Comedy Playhouse will present A Christmas Carol in an expanded performance schedule.   The schedule includes Saturday matinees as well as additional performances though out the week.

Join James Gooden and the company at The Comedy Playhouse for this heartwarming holiday story of hope and redemption.

A Christmas Carol performance times are 7:30 pm for evening shows and 3:00 pm for matinees.  Admission is $18, with discounts available for seniors and students.

The Comedy Playhouse is located at 3620 N. 1st Avenue, at the northeast corner of Prince Road and 1st Avenue.

Call 260-6442 for reservations.

The Guest Retainer to continue through November 26th

Tom and Harry own the Hotel Jerkskeet, which at present, is filled with nothing but sand and mosquitoes and a handful of "old fossils" as guests.  They hatch a plan to live the place up by hiring a "guest retainer" to flatter and flirt with the women.  Their plan works.  In fact, it works so well, the question is will the hotel survive the "guest retainer" or will the "guest retainer" survive the guests?

Your room is ready…for laughs!

Featured performers in "The Guest Retainer " include Tony Eckstat, John McRostie, Paul Hammack, Joan O'Dwyer Tina Swope and Jamie Mellon and Alex Greengard.

Call 260-6442 for reservations.  Admission is $18 with discounts available for seniors and students.  Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30pm and Sunday afternoons at 3:00pm.  The Guest Retainer plays through November 27.

The Comedy Playhouse is located at 3620 N.  1st Avenue at the northeast corner of Prince Road and 1st Avenue.

Coming in January…
