THEY'RE BACK!! THE SECOND CITY RETURNS TO ARIZONA WITH A BRAND-NEW SHOW, SEX AND THE SECOND CITY, VERSION 2.0

Limited engagement features the joys and jolts of romance in the digital age

Arizona Theatre Company has announced a limited engagement, special presentation of a brand-new show by The Second City making its premiere at ATC before a national tour, SEX AND THE SECOND CITY, VERSION 2.0. The laughter begins in Phoenix March 10-20, 2011 at the Herberger Theater Center, and the guffaws continue in Tucson, March 23-27, 2011 at the Temple of Music and Art.

Hide the kiddies, cage the pets and stock up on the laughing gas ... they're back!! Last season The Second City had Arizonans laughing so hard at ourselves we were gasping for breath (...or was that an ozone alert?), falling out of our chairs (...or were those the monsoon winds?) and splitting our sides (...or were we just left out in the sun too long?). From the comedy empire that gave us such comedy giants as Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Bill Murray, John Belushi, Gilda Radner and a whole slew of others, comes a new romp about the search for love in the digital age. Whether you've been poked, winked or tweeted - or even found love the (gasp) old-fashioned way - you'll LOL at this hilarious look at the technology that was suppose to make our love lives so much easier, but only made it that much more complicated. This new comedy also includes some of The Second City trademark improvisation and audience interaction that is guaranteed to make you J.

"The other day, I opened a door at the theatre and I swear I could still hear the last vestiges of laughter echoing around from The Second City show at ATC last spring," said Artistic Director David Ira Goldstein, "You would think that after we provided them with a comedy bonanza last time they visited, The Second City folks would leave Arizona alone. But, apparently they feel that they struck comedy gold here in the Grand Canyon State and this time they are aiming straight for our private parts in a very public forum. New York may have 'The Rent Is Too Damn High Party,' but it looks like Arizona has started 'This Place Is Too Damn Funny Party.' And the party gets underway next March."
