Tucson, Arizona – Pima Community College Chorale & College Singers, under the direction of Benjamin Sorenson, presents the final concert of the 2010-2011 season. Program selections include the Chorale singing highlights from “Porgy and Bess” by George Gershwin, and three choruses from the opera “Dido and Aeneas” by Henry Purcell. The College Singers perform the Scottish folk song “Bobby Shaftoe” arranged by David Willcocks, “Two Songs” by Gwyneth Walker and “Good Ale” by John Rutter.
 
Sorenson has been directing the Chorale & College Singers since 1978. He has performed with the Arizona Opera Company and has prepared choruses professionally for the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and the Arizona Opera Company.  
 
The PCC Chorale & College Singers concert is open to the public. Tickets are available at the Center for the Arts box office, located on West Campus at 2202 West Anklam Road, Tucson, (just west of downtown and I-10 on St. Mary’s Road which turns into Anklam Road). Box office hours are Tuesday-Friday, noon-5 p.m. and one hour prior to performance.
