April IFASA Meeting Promises Another Amazing Night of Prestigious Speakers and Fun.

 

If you are interested in the media arts come to the April meeting of the Independent Film Association of Southern Arizona.

Where: Midtown Ward Six City Office Main Meeting Room, 3202 East 1st Street, Tucson, AZ 85716

When: Tuesday, April 19th, 2011 · 6:30pm – 8:30pm

Guest speakers include:

Emmy Award Nominated & Gold Addy Award Winning Makeup Artist & Hair Stylist: Margarita Potts will discuss the difference between stage and film makeup and provide tips for actors.  Miss Potts will also discuss the benefits of using a professional makeup artist in film. Our keynote speaker will be award winning filmmaker and veteran cinematographer Dick Fisher who will present the keynote address, FILMMAKING AND PUBLIC SERVICE.  Mr. Fisher will screen the award winning TROUBLE AT HAND, a film he created for the 88-Crime, Campus Crime Stoppers Program of the Pima County Attorney’s Office produced by former IFASA President, Brian Mclaughlin which won Mr. Fisher the County Attorney’s “Citizen of the Year” award in 2008.  Mr. Fisher will discuss the genesis and distribution of the film and volunteer opportunities related to it.

 

Mr. Fisher is best known as the producer, cinematographer, and editor of the Indie smash hit, THE BROTHERS McMULLEN, that won the Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize in 1995.  More info on Mr. Fisher can be found here:  http://www.geocities.com/fisherdp/
As usual there will be an open announcements period, an update from the board with some exciting news, and don’t forget our networking period directly after the meeting. Bring your business cards and headshots etc.
