Between the Acts to

Open April 15!

B. C. Lease's domestic comedy Between the Acts is set to open Friday April 15th at The Comedy Playhouse.  Between the Acts tells the story of one day in the life of Richard Comfort.  Richard receives an annuity from his uncle every year that he does not get married.  Well, six months ago, Richard got married, but he didn't tell his uncle about the marriage. Also Richard hasn't told his bride how his uncle feels about marriage.  Today, Richard's uncle is coming to visit.  Richard's aunt is also coming to visit.  Richard's uncle doesn't get along very well with Richard's aunt.  Richard's best friend is also coming to visit.   Richard is in for a very busy day.  And you're in for a lot of laughs when you come to see Between the Acts!

 

  Between the Acts will run from April 15 to May 15. Performances will be Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 and Sunday afternoons at 3:00.  Admission to Between the Acts is $18.00, with discounts available for seniors and students.  The Comedy Playhouse is located at 3620 N. 1st Avenue at the northeast corner of 1st Avenue and Prince Road.  The Comedy Playhouse has lit, adjacent parking.  Between the Acts is appropriate for all ages.

The Comedy Genius of Mark Twain

Coming May 20th

The Comedy Genius of Mark Twain will open at The Comedy Playhouse on May 20thThe Comedy Genius of Mark Twain kicks off a new series at The Comedy Playhouse that will celebrate the works of famous humorists.  The show will present, in concert format, a selection of the comic monologues, dialogues, essays, lectures and poetry of Mark Twain.  Before the end of the year, The Comedy Playhouse will examine the works of Robert Benchley, O. Henry and Edna Ferber.  Next year, shows are planned for P.G. Wodehouse, Augustus Billings, Finley Peter Dunne and George Fitch.  Not familiar with these names?  Don't worry, you'll learn and laugh at the same time as The Comedy Playhouse presents their works.  

    "The Comedy Genius of …" series will be presented in limited engagements.  The Comedy Genius of Mark Twain will run three weeks only from May 20 to June 4th.  Performances will be Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30pm and Sunday afternoons at 3:00pm   Admission is special introductory price of $12.00 with discounts available for seniors and students.  

  The Comedy Genius of Mark Twain will feature Bruce Bieszki, Tony Eckstat, Drew Kallen and Katie Fuller.

The Matinee Show

Coming to

The Comedy Playhouse

The Matinee Show is an old-fashioned, live variety show, offering comedy, conversation, music, and door prizes. Each week will feature a different special guest from the Tucson community, and each month we'll present all-new material. Feel free to offer your own suggestions for guests, and if we bring one on the show, we'll give you two free tickets to see him or her. Performances will be at The Comedy Playhouse every Thursday, 2-4 p.m., from May 12 to July 28.
