Tucson, Arizona--Pima Community College Chorale and College Singers, under the direction of Dr. Jonathan Ng, present an end of semester concert featuring the Chorale, a large mixed-voiced choir, singing “Blow, Blow, Thou Winter Wind” by John Rutter; and the popular song “Autumn Leaves” by Joseph Kosma. The Chorale also performs two Robert Shaw arrangements of Christmas carols—“The Holly and the Ivy” and “Fum, Fum, Fum,” along with holiday favorites “Go Tell It on the Mountain” and “African Noel.” The College Singers, a select mixed-voice a cappella choir, present the Baroque choral master piece “Gloria” by Anotonio Vivaldi. Both choruses join to perform an early Baroque Venetian polychoral style piece (antiphonal double-chorus setting) by Heinrich Schütz—“Psalm 100 (Sing and Be Joyful).”
Pima Community College Center for the Arts is located on the West Campus just west of downtown and I-10 on St. Mary’s Rd, which turns into Anklam Rd. Box office hours are Tuesday-Friday, noon to 5 p.m. and one hour prior to performance.
