Tucson: Casting Call - SHORT FILM ..."SURVIVE"

About the Film / Casting:

Truth is far more terrifying than fiction..."SURVIVE" is an independent short film inspired by state police records and FBI case files documenting the harrowing ordeal of a kidnapped prostitute held captive in the lair of one of America's most disturbing serial killers. The events documented in this case served as inspiration for successful recent and classic genre films.

This film is designed as a “showcase film” meaning that it will be sent to agents, producers, investors, and studios as part of the Shadoworks Entertainment investment package and will be used to help us secure the necessary funding to begin production on three (3) feature films. It will also have a second life screening at a variety of film festivals, beginning when it receives it’s public premiere this October at The International Horror and Sci-Fi Festival in Phoenix, and The Deadly Event screening at Alice Cooperstown this Halloween.

This is a High Definition (24P HD) digital cinema production.

The film will receive a limited distribution on DVD as part of The Deadly Event program from which we can only hope to recover our production expenses. Shadoworks will be producing a limited run of full featured DVD’s for distribution to the cast and crew as well as being included as part of the investment package.

Filming Dates:

To be considered, the leading role of KATHY must be available all three primary weekends. All supporting actors and extras MUST be available at least two out of the three primary weekends.

· AUGUST 2 and 3 (Sat & Sun)
· AUGUST 9 and 10 (Sat & Sun)
· AUGUST 16 and 17 (Sat & Sun)
· AUGUST 23 and 24 (Sat & Sun) – Pickup Shooting *TENTATIVE*

Filming Locations:

Tucson, Arizona (4-5 days)
Benson, Arizona (1-2 days)

Compensation / Payment:

Since this is a NON-SAG / NON-UNION / NON-GUILD independent short film, which is also being used as a fundraising showcase reel, which means the budget is limited, production will be somewhat guerilla, and payment is restricted to a flat “day rate” based on an average shooting day of 10 hours. It is important to note that while not all roles are paid, all performers will receive a great deal of exposure from their involvement with this project.
