Public Relations Manager 

Arizona Opera is accepting applications for the position of Public Relations Manager. This is a full time exempt position reporting to the Director of Marketing. The Public Relations Manager is responsible for all publicity efforts for Arizona Opera’s performances in Phoenix and Tucson in order to maximize exposure and attendance for its 5 opera season. Qualified candidate should have 5 years experience working in public relations field, with proven success in pitching and securing stories in the media as well as developing and creating promotional events, community appearances and partnerships. Excellent writing skills and attention to detail a must.   Knowledge of opera repertoire a plus.

Duties include:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with the press
  • Writing and developing content for various publications such as performance programs, newsletters, sales copy, e-blasts, communiqué’s for assorted mailings
  • Creating promotional appearances for opera’s artists and personalities, assisting artists needs and maintenance during public appearance
  • Creating, generating and maintaining company appearance opportunities throughout the state to support earned and contributed revenue goals
  • Acting as community liaison for general public and opera’s stakeholders
  • Developing and implementing ideas with marketing, box office and development staff to maximize revenues and donations
  • Managing company image at events and theater
