Winding Road Theater Ensemble will present the world premiere of A HUMAN EQUATION by Peter Bonilla. The play is about Kenneth Feinberg, who managed the process of distributing the Victim's Compensation Fund in the aftermath of 9/11, and his struggle with finding a way to put a value on the loss of life. Directed by Glen Coffman, the acting ensemble includes Jeff Scotland (who plays Feinberg), Noel Chester, Amy Erbe, Roger Owen, Eva Tessler, Brian Wees and Steve Wood.
The play, by Philadelphia playwright Peter Bonilla, was developed at PlayPenn, a nationally-renowned new play development organization, with actor David Strathairn as Feinberg. Winding Road will bring the playwright to Tucson for the first weekend of performances.
Director Glen Coffman is a founding member of Winding Road, and has directed many readings, workshops, and productions of new plays. His Tucson credits include LEMON SKY, PICNIC, THE LION IN WINTER and FIFTH OF JULY.
A HUMAN EQUATION will play in repertory with staged readings of UNITED, ensemble member Toni Press-Coffman's new play in development about the 40 people who lost their lives on United Flight 93, which crashed in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania on 9/11.
Staged readings, directed by Christopher Johnson, will take plays at several Tucson locations including Christ Presbyterian Church, The Episcopal Church of the Apostles, St. Francis in the Foothills and Live Theater Workshop, and will be followed by discussions with the playwright, director, and other participating artists. See the website (www.windingroadtheater.org) or call 401-3626 for performance dates and times.
