BookPALS (Performing Artists for Literacy in Schools) www.bookpals.net is an all-volunteer literacy program of the Screen Actors Guild Foundation. (But you don’t have to be union to participate). This program provides an opportunity for actors, theater students and community volunteers to read aloud to needy elementary school students once a week.  You can encourage children to love reading and hone your acting skills doing volunteer work you will love.
