will be holding auditions for

Christmas in the Big Apple

Showing: November 17, 2011 – December 31, 2011

Written and directed by Peter Van Slyke - Musical Direction by Linda Ackermann

 

Auditions are

Saturday, October 8, 2011

At 2:00 PM

 

Actors /Singers ages 20-40 (6 males & 3 females/ roles will be double-cast)  

Must have a strong singing voice, high energy, good stage presence, strong dance ability and an entertaining personality

 

Please prepare at least 16 measures of two songs to fully demonstrate your vocal ability. You will be required to cold read.

 

Please bring a headshot, resume and your own sheet music.  An accompanist will be provided.

 No acappella or recorded music please.

It's the winter of 1933 and with the holidays approaching, the natives of "The Big Apple" are getting into the Christmas spirit.  Well, not quite all of them.  Wealthy socialite Vonda De Cringe has set her sights on a take-over of Pennypacker's Department Store.  To realize her nefarious scheme, she plans to disrupt the holiday shopping season by hiring the worst Santa Claus in all of

New York City.  If she has her way, this will be the last year "Pennypacker's Means Christmas!" Will Ms. De Cringe be the worm who turns the Big Apple rotten to the core…or will the

holiday spirit triumph?   Find out as The Gaslight Theatre celebrates "Christmas in the Big Apple!"
