Tucson, Arizona--Pima Community College Chorale and College Singers, under the direction of Dr. Jonathan Ng, present a fall concert featuring the Chorale singing “Blow, Blow, Thou Winter Wind” and “Banquet Fugue” by John Rutter; “Sing Me to Heaven” by Daniel E. Gawthrop; and “The Last Words of David” by Randall Thompson. The select choir College Singers present songs with a range of different styles. “Follow Me, Sweet Love” by Michael East; “As Torrents in Summer” by Edward Elgar; “The Seal Lullaby” by Eric Whitacre; and two of Joseph Haydn’s part songs—“Betrachtung des Todes (Reflection on Death)” and “An den Vetter (The Cousin).” Both choruses join to perform “The Snow (SSA)” by Edward Elgar, and two American Folk Songs by Aaron Copland—“Simple Gifts” and “At the River.” The program concludes with “Festival Sanctus” by John Leavitt.
Pima Community College Center for the Arts is located on the West Campus just west of downtown and I-10 on St. Mary’s Rd, which turns into Anklam Rd. Box office hours are Tuesday-Friday, noon to 5 p.m. and one hour prior to performance.
