Subject: Arts Left Out of Budget - Please Act Now
The Arizona House of Representative and the State Senate are expected to vote on the proposed 2017 budget
before the end of the week.
This budget was put together by the leaders of the State Legislature and the Governor.
Unfortunately, this proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2017 does NOT include any funding for the Arizona Commission on the Arts - which grants its budgeted money to arts organizations statewide.
However, it is imperative that you help us again TODAY by sending a message immediately to Governor Doug Ducey, Speaker of the House David Gowan and Senate President Andy Biggs letting them know how important it is to you that the state budget include $2 million for the Arizona Commission of the Arts.
This money would be used to support arts organizations all over the state. Failure to allocated the money will mean that this is the second year in a row that the Arts Commission will received NO money from the Legislature!
The Arts Commission simply cannot properly do its job without this important state funding. Help us flood the email boxes of the Governor and legislative leadership by sending this pre-written note immediately.
