Macbeth: A Shakesqueer Production
Hosted by Laura Fundoughlen and Quail Bea
It's that time of year again! The same gaggle of amateur miscreants who brought you a queer, punk/sci-fi production of of Twelfth Night in 2017 is now taking a stab at tragedy!
Please join us this year for a reimagined, queer & post-apocalyptic adaptation of Shakespeare's Macbeth!
THERE WILL BE TWO TUCSON SHOWINGS OF THIS PRODUCTION!!
Friday March 23rd at 7:00PM
Saturday March 24th at 7:00PM
Location: In the park at 424 S. Main Ave. next to La Pilita Cultural Center.
About the production: Macbeth, a Scottish General, receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he will become King of Scotland. Power hungry and consumed by ambition, Macbeth, with the help of his wife, goes on a killing spree to ensure his claim to the throne. What ensues is a tale of madness, paranoia, guilt, vengeance, the supernatural and of course intrigue...
This is an outdoor production in a park. Please check the weather and dress appropriately. Please being a chair if you need one or bring blankets to sit on because the ground is dirt. You are highly encouraged to bring a picnic! We will start promptly at 7:00PM but you are welcome to come and find a place to sit and picnic as early as 6:00PM.
There is a suggested sliding scale donation of between $10-25 but nobody is turned away for lack of funds! Invite your friends!
