Arizona Theatre Company Seeks Educators for Summer on Stage 2008

Arizona Theatre Company, a LORT-B theatre in its 43th season, seeks directors, a choreographer and a music director for its Tucson Summer on Stage program.  This five-week acting-intensive program introduces high school students to both the process and products of professional theatre.  Students are educated through classroom work and an intensive rehearsal process which leads to two fully-mounted productions.  These positions will work closely with the Artistic Director, Program Director, Production Staff and other Instructors to accomplish the mission of educating young people through daily instruction, class work and the process of creating a theatrical piece.  Responsibilities include teaching daily classes on the fundamentals of dance, acting and voice to students of varying ability levels, and serve as a mentor for Teaching Assistants as well as an ambassador for Summer on Stage for the public and press when needed.  The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to interact in a positive manner with young people, experience working with high school students in plays and musicals, experience teaching classes to varying experience levels, knowledge of the rehearsal process and inner workings of a professional theatre, and excellent communication skills.  The program runs from June 30th to August 2, 2008.  To apply, please send resume, letter of interest that clearly states which position you are interested in, with salary requirement and two letters of reference to:  Samantha Wyer, Director of Education, PO Box 1631, Tucson, AZ 85702. Applications will be accepted through April 30th.
