Beowulf Alley Theatre Presents Humble Boy

Tucson, Ariz. (April 17, 2008)— Beowulf Alley Theatre Company, 11 S. 6th Ave., will present Humble Boy by Charlotte Jones, directed by Arizona Daily Star’s 2007 MAC Award Best Director, Howard Allen. Included in the cast are Royce Sparks, Elizabeth Leadon, Cynthia Jeffery, Roxanne Harley, Paul Baker and Roger Owen.

Pre-opening performances are on May 8 and 9 and tickets are $10. From opening night, May 10, through the closing performance, June 1, ticket prices range from $16-$19, at the door or by phone at 882-0555, There are discounts offered online only at www.beowulfalley.org. Performance days and times are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 1:30 p.m.

Humble Boy is a comedy about broken vows, failed hopes and the joys of bee keeping. All is not well in the Humble household. Thirty-five year old Felix Humble is a Cambridge astrophysicist in search of a unified field theory. Following the sudden death of his father, Felix returns home to be with his difficult and demanding mother. He soon realizes that his search for unity must be expanded to include his own chaotic life.

Produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc, Humble Boy is the recipient of the Susan Smith Blackburn Award, the Critics’ Circle Best New Play Award and the People’s Choice Best New Play Award.
