Subject: Arizona Onstage Productions new Musical SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD - Opens this week!

A Musical by Jason Robert Brown

Directed by Kevin Johnson

Associate Direction and Choreography by Debbie Runge

Arizona Onstage Productions, a Tucson-based, multi-award winning professional theater company (Sunday in the Park with George, Elegies, BARK!) continues to bring fresh, exciting and bold music theater works to the Old Pueblo - our newest offering is Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown's SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD. As told by six dynamic singer/actors, as well as a professional onstage band, full lighting and set, SONGS musically explores the world of change – in life, in family and love. Starting with the founding of America and going past today, common themes are addressed from different and dynamic angles. SONGS has a running time of 95 minutes with no intermission.

"A show that gives us not only hope but proof that theater music is still being written that fills the brain, the heart and soul of audiences wanting, wishing, and hoping for a "New World" of musicals for the stage – and beyond."

Featuring Liz Cracchiolo, Charity LaPonsie, Jody Mullen, Marcus Terrell Smith and Jacinda Swinehart. Musical Direction (and additional vocals) by Khris Dodge, Lighting Design by Scot Gianelli and Zachary Ciaburri, Sound Design by Jon Marbry and Costume Coordination by Debbie Runge.

SPECIAL $10 STUDENT/TEACHER PRICE – ADVANCE ORDER ONLY… $10 tickets!  Please read carefully:  An anonymous friend of Arizona Onstage Productions has acknowledged the importance of SONGS, especially for students/teachers who might not otherwise have the opportunity to witness quality live musical theater written by a young composer. In order to encourage these students/teachers to be able to see SONGS, this friend has allowed Arizona Onstage Productions to offer $10 tickets for active students/teachers. This offer is for the first 50 student/teacher tickets per performance sold at least two hours before curtain of every performance. These tickets will go quickly, so the sooner you order, the better your chances are.

CONDITIONS FOR $10 Student/Teacher tickets:

*Students/teachers must purchase their ticket online at least 2 hours before each performance at There is no need to arrive earlier than normal – just make sure that you have a ticket or a print-out of your conformation from Brown Paper Tickets. Again, there is no service charge.

*Each $10 ticket holder will be asked to show his or her valid Student/Teacher I.D. Only one ticket is accepted per I.D.  This will be strictly enforced.

*No $10 Discount tickets will be sold at the theater. If someone arrives at the theater expecting to purchase a $10 ticket at the box office, he or she will be asked to go online and purchase a ticket for a subsequent performance. *$10 Student/teacher Discount tickets apply ONLY to the FIRST 50 tickets per performance sold in advance online.
