Auditions for the Unlikely Theatre Company’s Hope and RES Productions’ Eight Reindeer Monologues are now announced!

From the Unlikely Theatre Company Press Release:

Hope by Jem Street

The party wants Joe Chandler to run for Congress, but in one night in a hotel by the Tennessee River, he must come to terms with an imperfect past and an imperfect future.

Joe:  How good does a man have to be to be a politician?

Hubbard:  He doesn’t have to be perfect, Joe, just real quiet about being imperfect. People don't need to know you’re like everyone else.

Looking for two men between 30-50, two women between 30-50, one woman between 25-35, one African American woman between 25-35, one man 50+.

From the RES Productions press-release:

Jeff Goode’s Eight Reindeer Monologues provides a delicious alternative to conventional candy-cane, holiday cheer.

A furor erupts when Santa Claus is accused of sexual harassment by a couple of his reindeer. All eight share their views and anger about “the fat boy’s” alleged behavior. With calculated echoes of news coverage of public figures like Clarence Thomas, Bob Packwood and Michael Jackson, you’ll hear from the macho Dasher, the feminist Blitzen, the self-absorbed Prancer (Who's renamed himself ‘Hollywood’), and the rest of the gang in this zany sex scandal that reflects society’s own politics and inanities.

Eight Reindeer Monologues will be performed at multiple venues around town, and will be directed by MAC Award-winner, Howard Allen.

Looking for 8 talented performers of any age, and gender.

Auditions for both pieces will be held at the Conrade Wilde Art Gallery on August 20th and 21st at 210 N. 4th Ave, from 5:30-8:00pm each evening. Performers are asked to prepare two contrasting monologues, one comedic, and one dramatic. Preferred length of each monologue a minute and a half to two minutes. Cold reads, as well as schedule requests, will be provided. Anyone not able to make those auditions is more than welcome to reschedule, so please contact us if that's the case.
