Subject: Bridge "Commercial" Call for Actors/Extras

Hello,

We need actors and extras for six hours on Sunday, October 12, from noon to 6 pm at the campus of Cochise College in Sierra Vista, Arizona.  We are starting late to give everyone time to attend worship services, so once we begin we may be pushing you a bit in order to get everything in before dark.

This is NOT a paid shoot, but if you need a speaking line to enhance your resume let me know and I'll work it in for you.

There is no limit to the number of people, but we do have age bracket and look limitations.  We need fit looking men and women of all races who look like they belong in college.  I'm even ok with crutches or a motorized wheelchair provided that the person does not require assistance, is in the right age group, and looks otherwise fit.  We are looking for 18 (or 16 looking 18 with parent or guardian present please) up to grad student age 28 or so.  Mostly I want undergraduate age folks for the closeup and meaty speaking roles.

I don't want to see any tattoos, piercings except single earrings or studs for females, and no logos on clothing other than college logos (Bruins, Wildcats, U of A, Cochise College, etc.)  No tongue studs etc. if you want a speaking role.  No wild or weird clothing or hair, and no excess cleavage or skin tight clothing.  We are going for a wholesome look.

Bring what look like textbooks, backpacks, pens, tablets, notepads, binders, laptops, cell phones, Blackberrys, etc.  Keep track of your own stuff on the set.

Please eat before you arrive, but somewhere in the middle of the shoot we'll have pizza etc.  A lot of the filming will take place outside in the quad, so bring sunscreen and appropriate inclement weather gear if it looks like it might rain.  Please bring your own makeup, but do remember this is film not stage, so don't go nuts.  Restrooms will be available for your use.  If you have any special needs, medical needs (insulin?) please remember to bring what you need, including a cooler for any special beverage (NO ALCOHOL).  Cochise College is non-smoking facility, so leave your smokes in the car.  You'll have breaks long enough for a smoke in your car from time to time.  No smokeless tobacco please. Obviously, no drugs except for your prescriptions.

If any of you work in the restaurant business please bring aprons and chef's hat.

If you know how to play bridge or have played trick taking card games (spades, pinochle, etc.) and are available for this project please e-mail me about that and enclose a head shot if I don't have yours yet.

All actors should bring head shots with name on it (can be a photocopy) for identification purposes for the screen credits.

Familiarize yourself with the game of bridge at http://www.youtube.com/user/7ntxx and look at the script and jokes files here: http://www.pipeline.com/~drmemory/Bridge_sides.zip.  The more jokes you know the better, but must be clean.  I apologize for the slightly blue humor in the Brini video but I wanted it for the production values and to show what a social bridge game looked like in the halcyon days of bridge.

Mr. Glines and Ms. Coyle, please note that you are welcome to invite students who fit the above description to join us.  Should be fun.

Assemble between Buildings 500 and 600  from 11:45 to noon

Producer/Assistant Director
