Subject: CHANGE - September IFASA Meeting - Howard Allen on Acting

 

The September IFASA meeting will be held on Monday, September 8 at 6:00 PM at Access Tucson, 124 E. Broadway.  The speaker has been changed.  (Victoria Lucas will join us in November.)  Our speaker will be Howard Allen, who will speak on acting, from the valuable perspective of an actor and director.  Actors, directors, and everyone else involved in filmmaking are encouraged to attend.  There is no charge and everyone is welcome.

 

Howard has worked for many years as a professional actor, playwright, director, screenwriter and literary manager/dramaturg.  He was received the 2007 MAC Award for Best Director from the Arizona Daily Star for his direction of I Hate Hamlet for Live Theatre Workshop.

 

 

As a member of Actor's Equity and the Screen Actor's Guild, Mr. Allen has performed in LORT B theatres and in movies directed by Michael Landon and others, including Justin Kreinbrink’s The Decoy and Patrick Roddy’s Red 71.  Howard has directed Robert Picardo of Star Trek and Broadway fame.

 

 

Howard was a Star Speaker at the L.A. Screenwriters Expo 6 because of his skills at ScriptDoctor.com (rated 4th nationally by Creative Screenwriting magazine) and he just started CoyoteMoon Films, a production company aiming to honor the storyteller by producing great stories.

 

 

Mr. Allen has a MFA in Playwriting and Screenwriting and teaches college level courses in Writing for Film and Television, Film Acting, Art Of Cinema, Theatre History and Humanities.  He was co-writer on the screenplays Renaissance (top 10% at Heart of Austin Film Festival) and Line In the Sand, which has just been optioned   He has also joined with Michael Fenlason to revive his internationally recognized The Unlikely Theater Company.
