15 minute student film entitled "Reckoning," an experimental drama, is searching for its lead role; the character of Simon.
Simon is a male in his twenties to mid-thirties.
The actor must be willing to grow out his beard for three to five days and smoke (simulated smoking is fine).
Character Description:
Simon is an arrogant, aggressive, and head-strong character who possesses an indomitable will. He is the type to let everything else fall to the wayside once focused on a particular goal. Any persistent distraction only serves to irritate him although he is usually focused enough to ignore mild and passing distractions. He is quite humorless and blunt when talking to people. This steel facade breaks down when Simon is faced with irrational or surreal situations in which he has no control. Once his control and rationality are gone, Simon has nothing. He becomes a drowning man desperately seeking the surface; a falling man desperately looking for a ledge to hold. Control and cold rationality are dearer to him than the faith of a holy man. Without them all he has is his desperation.
The film is being shot the weekend of September the 11- 13th during the day. You must be available for these dates and for several rehearsals before shoot. The dates for the rehearsals will be flexible, but the shoot dates are set.
The auditions will be held Tuesday, August 11th, and Wednesday, August 12th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in room #212 in the Marshall Bldg. on the U of A Campus. The address is 845 North Park Ave. : http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&q=&vps=1&jsv=169c&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=20.842015,55.810547&ie=UTF8&geocode=FTvU6wEdHu9i-Q&split=0
Both days for the audition will be open. Please let us know if you are interested in auditioning, but are unable to make it by responding to this post. We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate you.
Thank you so much for your time and interest.
