Help the chorus raise funds for their community activities, including their quest at international competition. One of their beneficiaries, a quartet of young women from Flowing Wells High School, will join them to compete in the "Rising Star Quartet Contest." They hope to bring the gold back with them to Tucson.
In giving to the community, TDH donates money and time to youth in the community through sponsoring and organizing an annual Youth In Harmony Festival, scheduled for the fall for hundreds of underprivileged music students; through presenting winning students with a "Sing for Scholarship" opportunity; through working with music departments in several junior high and high schools to coach students in their music. The chorus educates, coaches, supports and encourages young people all over southern Arizona.
Tucson Desert Harmony is Southern Arizona's premier a cappella women's chorus. TDH is a local chapter of Sweet Adelines International, and has successfully built an award-winning women's chorus here in Tucson. This community-wide group of women sing four-part harmony in the "barbershop" style. They sing the familiar songs-the ones people like to hum along with-and also apply the barbershop style to many popular contemporary songs.
The chorus competes annually with other choruses throughout a four-state region that includes West Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and Southern California. They always welcome new singers.
Tucson Desert Harmony, a non-profit organization, promotes quality barbershop music while singing with passion, enthusiasm and energy, with each chorus member committed to excellence.
Included in the cost of your buffet is tax, tip, one raffle ticket AND entertainment. Come enjoy good food and music.
