Kara and Gabby's Theatre Playhouse!

4-week, weekend acting experience for children focusing on the fundamentals of acting for stage and film.

Areas of instruction will include:
-Set and Theatre terminology
-Picking and reading the right monologue
-Kid friendly script analysis
-Stage presence & Projection
-Fun "at home” acting exercises
-Audition tips & Cold reading techniques
-Character development and breakdown

Each child will attend four 2-hour classes (each Saturday.)
At the end of the 4-week workshop, the students will be using the skills learned to put on a short theatrical production, for family and friends, with the help of established actors in our community!

Acting classes are a great way for your child to gain confidence and build self-esteem.
Our fun and interactive approach to learning creates a perfect match for children who would like to pursue acting as a career or who simply want to tap into their creative side.

Each week, students will have the opportunity of meeting a fellow Arizona actor, who has pursued their dream and found success!

The 2nd hour of each class will be spent preparing the student's production.

Cost is $15 per hour. ($30 a week). Which, if you have explored acting classes before, you will recognize as a very reasonable price.
Classes at a local nationalized acting school run around $60 per class, and after teaching at several of these, we can assure you your child will get more individualized attention and guidance in this hands-on, friendly environment.

First session begins August 22nd, with the final class on Saturday, September 12th, with a dress rehearsal on Sunday. The class production is scheduled for September 19th, followed by an end-of-workshop Potluck on Sunday, September 20th.

Second session begins August 29th, with the final class on Saturday, September 19th, with a dress rehearsal on Sunday. The class production is scheduled for September 26th, followed by a end-of-workshop Potluck on Sunday, September 27th.

Classes are capped at 12 students. So, sign-up soon!
We love teaching acting to children, so if you think this program is a perfect fit for your son or daughter, but you cannot afford the price, please call and talk with us, we have a few community members who have pledged to sponsor a child for the duration of the program. We don't want any child to miss out on this opportunity, because of financial hardships.

Contact Kara at 520-551-8284
or Gabby at 520-861-2910

**We will be having an open house Saturday, August 15th, so that you can learn a bit about us and our acting backgrounds. This is also a great opportunity to network with other parents whose children are attending the workshop.
