The Pan African Cultural Exchange and partners Kuumba Made and Arts for Life Community present Zimbabwean singer, songwriter and dancer:

Where: La Cocina - Old Town Artisans, 201 N. Court Ave, Tucson
Cost: No admission charge, donations accepted.


Patience Mudeka was born and raised in Zimbabwe. Many recognize her as a back-up singer and dancer for Dr. Thomas Mapfumo, the Lion of Zimbabwe. She is an accomplished, award winning  dancer, both in Zimbabwe and abroad. Her influences are Chimurenga music, Mbira and Afro-pop. Patience performed and toured with Dr. Thomas Mapfumo for several years, eventually branching off and forming her own band, and recording her critically acclaimed album, Tafadzwa.

Mike Olsen, AKA as Doc Twang, is a founding former director of our founding group, Batucaxe. He is an amazing musician and heads up the well known Key Ingredients of African Soul. Please be part of helping Mike and his partners WELCOME Patience to Tucson, her first visit!
