Tucson: Participating Actors wanted for the Mark Travis "Staging the Scene" workshop

If you are interested in getting more exposure in the Arizona film community, you might consider being a Participating Actor in the Mark Travis "Staging the Scene" workshop. Ten up and coming Tucson and Phoenix directors will rehearse two-actor scenes in front of a class of directors while Mark coaches. At the last workshop there were forty directors watching! Several of the Participating Directors are looking for actors for their up and coming productions.

In addition, you will learn staging techniques that will raise your acting to a new level from Master Instructor Mark Travis. (see announcement below.)

Best of all - If you are selected to participate in scene work at the workshop, you get to attend the workshop for half price! Only $50 for a three day workshop!

CALL FOR ACTORS to participate in the Mark Travis "Staging the Scene" Workshop August 14 -16, at the Tucson Marriott University Park, 880 E. Second Street. Staging (how characters move) is a powerful tool that illuminates the subtext or unspoken desires, needs, fears and fantasies of the characters. Actors learn how staging (even self staging) will deepen their own experience, t he emotional state o f the character and how the audience perceives the character and the scene.They will gain techniques that they can use regardless of what the director is giving them and how to recognize and overcome staging that is working against them. At this master workshop, Participating Directors stage two-actor scenes in front of the class as Mark coaches. Cost for actors/directors observing $100. The cost for Actors pre-chosen to participate is $50.(pre-workshop preparation, memorization and rehearsal required.) Mark wrote the Best Seller, THE DIRECTOR'S JOURNEY: the Creative Collaboration between Directors, Writers and Actors; as well as DIRECTING FEATURE FILMS. Mark has taught at the Actors' Studio.
