Hello everyone,

 

Once again, Batucaxé will be part of Tucson's quintessential Rhythm Industry Review:
"Dream it. Learn it. Do it." Is it a party? Is it a recital? Is it a circus? Is it performance art? Come experience it yourself and find out!
In addition to Batucaxé, you'll see works-in-progress, improvisations, and old favorites: taiko, mime, text-driven creative movement, modern dance, pyrotechnics and circus arts. It all happens at Tucson's only artist-owned performing arts incubator! Open to all!


When: Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, 7:00 to 10:00 pm 

 

Where: 1013 S Tyndall Tucson AZ 85719 (map)

 

Cost: $10 suggested donation benefits Rhythm Industry Performance Factory (www.rhythmindustry.org). Please bring non-perishable donations for the Community Food Bank.

Featuring: Batucaxé, Odaiko Sonora, Movement Salon, Thom Lewis Dance, Theatrical Mime Theatre,  and Flam Chen.

Batucaxé, winner in the 2009 Tucson Area Music Award, Best World Music Category, is a non-profit drum and dance ensemble and school in Tucson, Arizona. Inspired by the music of Brazil, Batucaxe (pronounced bah-too-cah-SHEY) features the music of many traditions, from Brazil and all over the world. Our goal is to inspire creativity, openness, community solidarity and collective joy, through lessons and classes, outreach programs and high-energy performances. www.batucaxe.org. 

Batucaxé Drum school/rehearsal is held on Tuesdays 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Dance classes are held Sundays 5:00-6:15 p.m. with live Drumming!

Both are held at The Rhythm Industry Factory, 1013 S. Tyndall Avenue
