Hi all,

My name is John Roney and I'm a senior at the University of Arizona. I'm gearing up to shoot my thesis film. The project is a Western centering on a young boy and his father who are on the run from a sinister villain. It will shoot mid-late October using desert locations around Southern Arizona. I'm looking for four actors willing to participate in what will be a beautiful finished project.

I need:

A young boy (8-14 years old). The boy faces a situation in which he must grow up and face the danger.

The Father (30's-40's). Exhausted and sick, the father pushes on for the sake of the boy. Think Guy Pearce, Viggo Mortensen

The Magic Man (20's-70's). Mystical and prophetic, the Magic Man gives abstract advice to the characters to guide them on their journey.

The Villain (20's-50's). Animalistic in his pursuit, the villain is gaunt and motivated solely by the idea of catching and killing his prey.

The budget is being decided now, but I assure you that transportation/food/lodging will be taken care of at the very least. Despite the project's nature as a student film, thi sset will be run with professionalism. The excitement and expectations for the final project are high, and I would love your help getting to that point.

Headshots and resume are preferred, but any picture would be appreciated. Submissions can be sent to thisdesertisbig@gmail.com.

Thank you so much and I look forward to hearing from you.
