Celebrate water in our desert through the arts and sciences.

 WATER FESTIVAL FILM FEST + BOOK FAIR 

The Loft, 3233 E. Speedway Blvd.

$8 Gen./$6 Members, Students, Seniors

Local and national experimental and documentary water films (from
a Philadelphia water-inspired dance film to a local look into our
fascinating wastewater system), plus book fair by UA Press
and UA Bookstore, speakers, live music, and free raffles!

Celebrate water in the desert and World Water Week!
Featuring an art show, Enviro-Exhibitor Fair, performances, 
speakers, workshops, kids activities, music and more!

Kids and adults are encouraged to dress in a water-inspired costume!

 

ONGOING ACTIVITIES:

Art Show • Enviro-Exhibitor Fair • Wishing Well • Water-Themed Storytelling

Face-painting • Buck-A-Cup Water Station • Water Bucket Carrying Obstacle Course 

Make American Indian Paper Pots w/ Water Symbols (Facilitated by Arizona State Museum)

10 am: Welcome, followed by music by Jacob Mason (Tucson High Student)

10:30 am: Water Safety Demo by UA Campus Recreation

11 am: Music by 5 Horses 4 Winds

11:30 am: Dance of Arabia Belly Dancing

Noon: Panel Discussion on Art, Sustainability, and Commerce

+ Danza Mexica Cuauhtemoc & Parasol Project

3 pm: Aztec Dancing by Danza Mexica Cuauhtemoc
3:45 pm: Closing Ceremony

*TAB Dance Theater features Butoh (a.k.a. "Zen Dancing"), a powerful dance form that embodies energy and had originated from Japan in response to the nuclear atrocities during WWII. The Water Festival offers space for prayers and healing energy for the people of Japan suffering from the tsunami and nuclear catastrophe. 

 

The Water Festival is working together with Solar Rock (a Solar music festival outdoors at Armory Park) and Cyclovia (biking and walking activities in 5 miles of streets) that will be at the same venue and the same day!  Join in on the fun!

 

 

 

 

      SUNDAY, APRIL 3 @ Noon-3pm      
         IN SEARCH OF LIVING WATERS        

@ Sabino Canyon Visitor Center, 5700 N. Sabino Canyon Rd. 
$5-$10 Suggested Donation, $5 parking/car

 

(Meet in area by visitor booth. Trollies are available if you prefer, rather than walking 1 mile.  
To carpool, meet at 11am, Armory Park Center, 220 S. 5th Ave., East side of building.)

 

Cross-cultural / interfaith water ritual with flowing river water, enjoy water blessings from many spiritual practices, optional Butoh "Zen Dancing"
and writing workshops, hiking, and more! Connect with the intrinsic
value of water.  Bring with you comfortable shoes and clothing,

drinking water, writing utensil, and journal.
