Two Plays, Two Women, Lots of Laughs
Bisbee’s Obscure Productions will wind up their fabulous 8th season with two one-woman plays presented in repertory at the O. J. Squffy Theater at Central School Project, 43 Howell Avenue in Old Bisbee.
In the comedy, Bad Dates, by Theresa Rebeck, Reva Myers-Shemanski plays Haley Walker, a single mom raising her teenage daughter in New York City. She regales the audience with the hilarious stories of her life, as she gets ready to go out on what turn out to be mostly bad dates. This story features interesting twists and lots and lots of shoes. Bad Dates opens on Friday April 8, at 7:30 pm and continues Friday and Saturday evenings, April 16, & 22 and May 7, with a 3:00 matinee on Sunday, April 10. This play contains adult language.
The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe by Jane Wagner, features the welcome return of Gilles to the stage, taking on 14 different roles in this funny and thought-provoking comedy. “Search” plays Fridays and Saturdays, April 9, 15, 23 and May 6 at 7:30, with a 3:00 matinee on Sunday, April 17.
Tickets for each show are $10 in advance at Atalanta’s Music and Books and The Bisbee Food Coop or by mail from BOP at Box 227, Bisbee, 85603 and for $11 on line at shopbisbee.com. Tickets at the door will be $12 for adults and $6 for students with ID, while they last. Students should plan to arrive one hour before curtain.
